I just whipped up a batch of the CC recipe for Satin Icing... I'm not at all sure if it is a "version" of the store bought type, but it seems very pliable. It's not white, it's yellowish, but I'm going to add pigment anyway.

Has anyone else used this recipe, and what was your experience? Does it set well? It said it was great for decorations too???

thanks in advance. icon_smile.gif

From another post regarding the same recipe:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's pretty much a recipe for a rolled buttercream--it's missing the corn syrup, though. I'd be leary of using it for any large application, quite honestly.

I would NEVER call that a fondant. It has nothing in it to contribute to stretch, etc. I wouldn't expect it to act like any type of rolled fondant, either MMF or a commercial product.

You may find that you like it for something, but be careful in warm weather because that recipe will melt very, very quickly.
