I'm in the middle of airbrushing my fondant covered cake. I had a couple of sections of fondant that were rubbed with shortening. When I went to airbrush the cake, the parts of the cake that had shortening on it won't take in the color. I tried wiping off the shortening from the cake but it's still not accepting the color. So now what do I do know to get the color on those sections of fondant?

Wipe it off really good and let it air dry for a bit...then rub a bit of dry icing sugar on the area and buff it out. Then try airbrushing over top after it is buffed.
