Hi All,

I have already made the cake itself and it is in the freezer now. I will be taking the cake out of the freezer Wednesday morning to decorate in the evening and will finish up Thursday morning and deliver Thursday afternoon.

My question is that the party is now not until Sunday - will the cake be okay? It is a yellow cake, oreo cookie filling, BC icing & fondant decorations (strips & stars). I thought about brushing some simple syrup on it and maybe put it in a plastic dome cake holder instead of a regular cardboard box.

Any advice?

TIA!
Karen

It would depend on if your cakes are really moist or not. I would think a simple syrup will help it and also the dome holder

I would say yes, it will be fine, but that's based on me being a mix baker. My understanding is that (some?) scratch cakes don't last as long as a mix cake.

I've eaten my cakes that are a week old and they tasted as good as they did on day one.

Mix girl here. icon_smile.gif I used the WASC recipe for this cake.
