Hey everyone, I have a dilemma.. I have a bride who is having a fall flower theme cake, she wants STRAWFLOWERS. I really do not want to use silks for this, and was wondering if anyone out there has any clue or idea how to make these either with RI or BC I don't know about gumpaste? the wedding is Aug. 30. so I still have a few days to get them figured out but needed some help.

ANY guidance will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance. icon_smile.gif

To me the strawflowers resemble daisys, except for the center. You can try making a daisy in RI, then build the center with petal like strokes building into the center. I would use petal dust to color the edges and centers. Personally i think they would be a bit better to make from gumpaste or fondant.

Ooh--I would go gum paste all the way. Maybe use a chrysanthemum or carnation cutter?
