Does anyone know how to achieve a taupe colored "chocolate" bc? I plan on using the Hershey's chocolate buttercream recipe...I think it's yummy icon_lol.gif However, the groom wants it taupe colored, isn't that like a tan? Any ideas?

I don't think you can have a taupe chocolate frosting. To make taupe, I add about 1/2 - 1 TBS cocoa powder. It won't really be a chocolate flavor though. I would suggest to him filling the cake with chocolate frosting and ice the outside with the regular buttercream.

Make your chocolate frosting and then add some Wilton White-White. It lightens any color of frosting. I've used it before to lighten chocolate frosting.

jsmith, that's what I thought, "but the grocery store sells it" he told me. I think I will try the suggestion of adding wilton white white that clopin0 talked about. Thanks to both of you for your help.
