Ashley Dawn
8/11/08 8:32 a.m.
7 lbs, 15.6 oz

We are home from the hospital and doing pretty well! I am experiencing a LOT of swelling in my feet and legs from the c-section, so the time I can spend at the computer is very limited because I need to keep my feet elevated, but I wanted to post these (show off!) and let you guys know I am back! Not at 100% yet, but I'm getting there! Thank you so much for all your positive thoughts and wishes, I really appreciated it!

Oh Kelly she is so beautiful!! I love those cheeks - she reminds me of my DD when she was born (C-Section too). And I also agree with PP that C-Section babies are so pretty -

Give her lots of hugs and kisses from me!! And take care of yourself -- and enlist plenty of help - all you need to do is rest with elevated feet and take care of Ashley!

Congratulations!

Here is my little butterball, only 1 month old and already over 11 lbs!

My feet are STILL swollen from the c-section!! The only shoes I can wear are my 16-year-old son's size 10 flip-flops. icon_cry.gif It's embarrassing. The doctor says it's completely normal because of all the fluids they pump into you for the surgery, but I'd never heard of it before. Have any other c-section momma's had this happen?

Oh, Kelley! She's precious!!!! Congratulations!
As for your swelling, do you have any other problems/symptoms? I had swelling for 2 and a half weeks after my daughter was born but it suddenly went away for no explainable reason. She was preemie and by c-section and I was pumped full of magnesium sulfate. If the doctor says it's normal, then I guess we're supposed to trust that he knows what he's talking about, but only you know you're body and what's going on, so I hope it goes away soon. (Flip-Flops aren't the most comfortable shoes!) Keep us posted!

Stephanie
