I made sugar shack's icing today, but I didn't have any hi-ratio, so I used crisco. Well the icing is very gritty! Is there any way to fix this or do I have to throw it all out?
Have you beaten it long enough?
If I have gritty icing it ususally is because I haven't given it long enough time in the mixer.
I have made her recipe many times using crisco. It could also be the sugar you used. Different brands can give different results. Being that you are in Germany it's possible that's the problem.
