I found it super helpful to read the polymer clay books out that explain how to make polymer clay people and instead of using clay i use fondant. works great every time. I even use the polymer clay tooks to shape my fondant, Hope this helps

Both the above suggestions, but also, Lindy Smith books too. Good luck.

I am learning also! icon_smile.gif I practice first using Sculpey clay, the texture is about the same. I had to make fairies for my daughters birthday cake a few weeks ago and I spent a few week before that practicing with the clay first.

I found a few books about cake decorating with figures and such helpful> Debbie Brown, "Enchanted Cakes for Children" & "Magical Cakes"> her stuff is amazing! I also found this helpful book at my library> "Two-Hour Party Cakes" by Carol Deacon. I used techniques from both ladies to help me.
Good Luck! thumbs_up.gif
