Graduating From A Crusting Bc To A Non..stacking Question

I have been using crusting buttercream for years and stacking has never been an issue with the bc sticking to the tier above it. I am now using a non crusting buttercream and when you lift up the plastic plate (SPS) it sticks to the buttercream. I tried floating it alittle above the cake, but the borders are too big. I dont want to use coconut or powedered sugar to stop the sticking, as for one, this doesnt work with non crusting and two people hate coconut. Should I put parchment paper down? Will this help? Any other ideas?
