if any one has done a 3d head or skull what is the best way to do the face. im wondering if i should carve it all out of cake, crumb coat then cover in fondant or if i should mold a face plate out of RKT and attach to the head.
Bronwen does her pumpkin out of cake and molds the facial features with her fingers, id like to go this route if everything will stay in place. anyone had experience with this?

You really have to have a dense cake for making
a 3d head or scull. What about rice crispie treats.
Anything I have to mold like that I use RCT.

ive done cake sculpting before so know about the density of cake and using rice crispy treats, but im just enquiring if anyone has already done this as to which way is better, molding the face from rct or carving the cake.

Sorry, now I understand. I carve a little of the cake and let the fondant
do the rest. I've seen BW mold from the fondant and that seems easier,
just always try on the cake first.
