How To Define "professional" Cake Designer/de
Decorating By CoutureCakeCreations Updated 13 Aug 2008 , 4:29am by tonedna
I work in the industry of Interior Design, and it is so similar. People watch HGTV and think they are gods gift to decorating when they don't know a darn thing about the techincal side of the business, the codes, etc.
I'm sure in cake decorating its the same thing. Yes there are those people that have a god given talent and then there are those who have been to school for years and everything looks topsy turvey no matter how straight they try to get it.
Honestly I think you have to be honest with yourself, I think a professional has the creativity to create unique designs, a professional can listen to customers and create their dream cake. (Again like in interior design, you are designing for the client not for yourself!!!)
Ok I'm on a rant now, so I'll shut up!!!
I dont think you have to be full time to be a professional ..but you need the experience and all the skills required..
