I have an order for a wedding cake in October and the mother of the bride met with me last night and has asked that the cake be done and ready for transport to Nebraska on the 9th and the wedding isn't until the 11th. She said it is up to me if I use bc or fondant so long as the cake is fresh and "perfect" for the big day. So all you experienced decorators, which is going to be better, bc or fondant? I am going to bake and decorate on the 8th, so that it is ready for pick-up on the 9th. I need all the help I can get here.

This is really a no-brainer. Fondant.

Thanks Jules. In case you haven't guessed, I am a newbie and this is my first wedding cake. I thought fondant would be but I was trying to avoid it simply because of the cost. I guess I better learn how to make fondant.
