Hi!..
Well ..after a lot of people asking for this I just finished downloading a
six part video tutorial in Youtube on how to make Gumpaste Roses.

I decided to go with a cutter that anybody can find so everybody can learn. Eventually I will do another one with the five petal cutter eventually.
In my homepage in Youtube you will find the first video and below that you will see the other ones. Or you can open the page of my videos so you can see them all..If you can't find them PM me..

The last video I posted, wich is the full bloom rose (part VI)is still being processed, so give it a chance to pop in there.

here is the link to my homepage:

Hope you enjoy..And helps somewhat..there are plenty of ways to make roses..Just find the one that works for you..

Nice job!

What brand of calyx cutter did you use that already has the serrations on the edges of the sepals?

All of my calyx cutters are smooth-edged and I have to cut them with scissors (that's how Nick Lodge taught me) but I would LOVE to find a calyx cutter with the edges already serrated like that!

Thanks,
Sherri

I found it in my cake store...They dont have a brand name..I think is someone that makes them for them.. But the scissor cut works great..
This one came in a package that had everything. Petals , leaves and calyx..
Maybe I'll hunt for them in the internet or ask the owner next time I go there!

Edna,
Thank you so much for expertise and sharing! As I was watching them, my son walked into the room and commented on how beautiful you are as well! Maybe he'll be into cake decorating as well now!

I too just wanted to say thank you - you're videos are so easy to follow yet packed with information and tips - perfect for helping newbie's like myself, it really makes such a difference seeing something being made rather than just hearing instructions.
Thanks for taking the time to pass on your expertise - it really is appreciated. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif
