Explain Making "slice Of Cake" Cake
Decorating By charleezgal Updated 13 Aug 2008 , 2:32am by MacsMom
Can someone explain to me the construction of the "Slice/Piece of Cake" cake? Do you have to put the slice on a cake board that has been cut to size, or do you put the slice directly on top of the cake? Do you use supports? After cut, do you then frost the insides of the cake and the slice too? I love the look of this cake and really want to try it. I will not be using fondant, only buttercream. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
yes, I've always wondered how to do that... is it fondant? cake?
I hope someone will share the secret.

Sorry to sound dense, but what do you mean "fill the slice"??? The one on top and how?
thanks so much, by the way, for sharing.

The "slice" is the same cake as the bottom tier, so you would treat that part of the cake exactly as you would if you were making a regular 2-tier cake: Torte, add filling, frost.
