How do I get my swiss dots to look uniform?
I have one tier with swirls and one tier with swiss dots. I know the swirls look better when they are just all over, but what about the swiss dots.
Well, you can do it with a ruler or you can do it with an impression mat. THe last one is easier

Yes - impression mats work great on buttercream. But if your not going to do a lot of cakes with dots, you're better off using the ruler (sorry - I'm just thinking of all the things I've purchased and only used once!). I also like the ruler better because you can ensure you don't have a 'back of the cake!'
