I'm going to be making a family tree cake for my mom's family reunion this weekend. I wanted to make a tree coming out of my cake by covering a pvc pipe with chocolate fondant to make it look like a tree trunk. Does anyone have any different ideas? Or maybe a recipe for chocolate fondant or something that would stick to my pvc pipe?

Thank you for your time.

You might have better luck with chocolate clay (recipes in the recipe section) It is easy to mold in 'chunks' to look a bit more tree-like. But pvc sounds like a plan. you can use smaller pipe with some connectors for branches.

Thankyou JoAnn, I did get the recipe for chocolate clay. Hopefully it works out for me. Also, thanks for the ideas for the branches I was pondering a couple different ways.

Thanks a lot!
