I just bought this cupcake book and B&N this weekend that has lots of yummy-sounding recipes I'm anxious to try. This book uses self-rising flour, so I'm not sure how to convert that to AP flour or if I even can. If I understand it right, self-rising has some baking powder or soda added to it already, right? Does anyone know an easy way to use AP flour and what amount of BP or BS to use along with the flour? Thanks!!
I found in two different books to add 1-1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to one cup of AP flour and mix well. There were other proportions, but the above was the only one I found twice, and I have used it myself on occasion
