Hi. I'm doing my first cake with fondant decor. It will be frosted in buttercream (tomorrow). Today I made my fondant pieces -- cutouts about 2+ inches diameter -- and they seem so HEAVY. I'm letting them dry overynight. I cut them to only around 1/8".

Oh, and it's for my baby niece who's turning one, so I really want to get it right!

Any suggestions (or warnings!) would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much, pinkdaisy

If they are dried, and over night they might be, they should stick to the wet buttercream.

If the buttercream is crusted, or dried on the surface, you will probably need either a very light bit of moisture on the back of the fondant piece, or a dab of icing to hold it in place.

Thank you so much, JoAnn! They seem dry this morning. I appreciate your response!
