I'm new to this. I have a kitchen scale and i weigh all my ingredients but most of the recipes on CC are in cups. My problem is i dont have a dry weight measuring cup, are the measurments equivalent
for example is 2 cups = 16oz or 1 lb with my scale or is it something else

You're asking "How much does a cup weigh?"

The age old answer is "A cup of nails or a cup of feathers?"

Obviously it depends on WHAT you are measuring.

You might go to "" and enter the question for each item and see what's up. On this link, , it pretty much says "measure a cup and weigh it ... there's no simple easy answer other than that."
