I'm new to this. I have a kitchen scale and i weigh all my ingredients but most of the recipes on CC are in cups. My problem is i dont have a dry weight measuring cup, are the measurments equivalent
for example is 2 cups = 16oz or 1 lb with my scale or is it something else

You're asking "How much does a cup weigh?"

The age old answer is "A cup of nails or a cup of feathers?"

Obviously it depends on WHAT you are measuring.

You might go to "www.ask.com" and enter the question for each item and see what's up. On this link, http://www.onlineconversion.com/faq_03.htm , it pretty much says "measure a cup and weigh it ... there's no simple easy answer other than that."
