My uncle is building his first house. Family and friends are giving him a surprise house warming party. Any ideas? I have seen the "house" cakes on here and really didn't want to do a stand up pan. I thought about doing a replica of his house and a caption like, " Welcome to the Brad Pad" or something cheesy like that, but i don't know where to begin to build a 3D house (especially with the roof line).

Any idea suggestions or info/tutorials on how to go about constructing a house would be MOST appreciated. Thanks CCers!

Maybe you could make the roof ahead of time out of gum paste. Then you could just place it on top of your cake. BUMP
