How do you all handle orders for groom's cakes? I've had several lately requesting their favorite sports team logo on the cake. If I'm understanding the whole licensing issue, I can't do that right?

Some guidance on this would be MOST appreciated!

Thanks!

Under laws, don't think you're suppose to. I would tell them the most I can do w/ it is them order a edible image & use it (tacky IMO for a wedding). Explain to them why you can't & why others shouldn't!!! Offer an option of using the colors & maybe a mascot (don't know if those are ok or not)--there are a lot of "animals" so I don't know how you can license an animal. A specific one w/ the name or emblem, but not the animal.

Maybe someone else has specifics.

Technically you're not supposed do, but many"known" cake designers do anyway, without consequence (they simply do not advertise that they do such and they don't put those pics up on their website afterward, to avoid drawing attention to it). Not saying you should or shouldn't, just saying it IS done often.
