I have recently came across a couple of recipes that require odd flavorings.
On recipe takes Essences of Lavender in the cake batter another takes rose water in the frosting. Does any one know where to find these ingredients?

I'm not sure about the Essences of Lavender, but you can usually find rose water in any Middle Eastern market (or a grocery that has a big Middle Eastern section).
If you don't have that kind of market in your area, I would try Googling the items to see if you can locate one online source. I'm sure it's out there somewhere!
