I have a cake to make soon and I'm out of cake mixes. I could use a from scratch, but I found a place Aldis (sp). They have Cake Doctor, Bake Doctor, or something. I think it's a brand name for them. Anyway has anyone used them? I would go to Giant, but it's hard for me to buy when the box is $2.00 +.

Thanks
Merry

Aldi has great prices on ingredients. I have used their cake mix and it is as good as any name brand.
I would recommend using the extender recipe with any cake mix ( 1 c. flour 1 c sugar 3 lg. eggs 1 c. sour cream and 1 stick butter, melted 1 1/3 c. water) as this recipe gives any box mix a better than box taste.

I've always used Duncan Hines as a base cake mix. Another suggestion for a better than box cake is the cookbook "The Cake Mix Doctor". I use this all the time and no one realizes that they are eating "box" cake. It's great. Good luck.
