Why Does Gumpaste Change Color??

I just started making flowers with gumpaste but the color changes within a day or two is this normal or m I doing something wrong?

As moisture evaporates and the gumpaste dries, it will change color. Most of the time it gets lighter. Pinks and purples are notorious for fading or turning blue, so be sure to keep those colors out of light whenever possible.

Once your flowers have dried, you can dust them, dip them or paint them with additional color.

Thank-you the color I was using was purple and I though I was doing something wrong.
