The last time I made a FBCT I used the recipe by Cali4dawn that said it was for the transfer. The icing worked great I might add; however, it didn't quite match the white icing on the remainder of the cake once I completed the icing and decorating.
I am making a cake this weekend for a birthday party and plan to do another FBCT and want to use Indydebi's Icing recipe for the cake. How well does this icing work with a FBCT? If I can use the same recipe for both then I know my colors will match.
I haven't used Indydebi's recipe, but I use buttercream dream for both my cake frostings, and for FBCTs. I've never had a problem. Hopefully you'll find an answer!!
It's the only icing I use for everything. I recommend freezing between steps if you have a lot of multi-layered colors (a tip I picked up from CC'ers) and let the final product lay in the freezer at least 24 hours.
