I'm making a cake for my husbands birthday and he'd like strawberry. I was thinking of putting a chocolate layer in between the strawberry layers and then make a strawberry filling between all layers and covering with cream cheese frosting. Do you think this would taste good or should I just stick to the strawberry? Also, I know the chocolate cake will have a different texture so I didn't know if that would matter either............

i think that the chocolate layer between the strawberry layers will look very pretty. just make sure to dam your layers before putting on the strawberry filling.

not sure about the cream cheese...but worth a try if your husband likes it

Sounds good to me. For my daughter's last birthday she wanted chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream filling and chocolate ganche glaze and it was YUMMY! This year she wants a checkerboard cake with strawberry and chocolate cake; not sure what kind of icing I'll end up covering it with.
