For Those Of You Who Do Portable Cake Consultations...
Decorating By travelingcakeplate Updated 21 Jul 2008 , 9:59pm by gottabakenow
Hello--
I am looking to make my portable cake consultation process more "baker friendly" but still want to be professional.
I am going to implement jkalman's method for the tasting but am a little puzzled regarding the proper way to carry this set up to my potential clients.
Any suggestions?
Here is the thread with Jkalman's method and diagram. See page 3.

I used to do consultations in the brides' homes, and this is my idea...
for the cakes: put them on a nice foil-covered or Wilton lace-look 1/4 sheet board. Cover w/ plastic wrap and transport in a cake box.
for the fillings & frostings: perhaps put the samples in those plastic condiment containers with a lid. (I use them for cake samples at bridal shows) You could take along a nice tray to display the opened containers.
the containers would transport easily, and set-up would be quick.
You could take along some pretty plates and napkins-and disposable spoons and forks (NICE ones ).
