do you make them??? I have a baby shower cake to make for August 10, what is the soonest I should make them?

You can make your gumpaste figures now. Just keep them somewhere away from humidity. I store in boxes with silica to absorb any moisture. Another thing I do is store the boxes in the microwave (OK - sounds crazy) but its airtight and keeps moisture out (perfect place to keep your bread fresh also) - plus no one in the house uses it.

I will be in the Cake Show at the CA State Fair on August 18th...

I started making my Faries, Flowers etc... for that cake last week..

They do not go bad even if you will use it three years from now..as long as they are Gumpaste or Fondant..I keep mine in the coat closet in my spare bed room up stairs..
