I'm making a huge 3 - 4 layer 3D cake, and thought I'd do the different layers in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, but am at a loss as to what flavor of buttercream icing will taste best with all 3 cake flavors. Maybe a white chocolate or caramel? Any suggestions?

White chocolate would be good. I was thinking my Butter-Buttercream would go well because I have people tell me it tastes like vanilla ice cream.

It is a super easy recipe, if you would like it just let me know.

Sounds yummy! icon_razz.gif

That sounds yummy, if you don't mind. I was thinking white chocolate might be too rich; a vanilla ice cream flavor would be perfect for an outdoor party - I wouldn't have to serve ice cream. thumbs_up.gif

Okay, keep in mind I don't use recipes much...

A large batch is
7 sticks butter, softened
a couple of teaspoons of vanilla
mixed together in the Kitchen Aid
Add 7lbs of powdered sugar and milk, alternating

Make sure all the sugar is mixed in before adding the milk, if not it makes lumps. I add some sugar and then milk alternating, I would say about a cup maybe. You can tell when it's looks right or feels right for you.

Sorry I don't have better measurments icon_redface.gif

It is yummy!! Enjoy!!
