I am trying to figure out what's the best way to color my buttercream or royal icing in gold to write and make designs on a cake. any suggestions.

Thanks this really helps. The bride wants a letter written in gold on over 200 small circle of fondant to go on top of cupcakes. this doesn't include the cake.
