1 cup butter room temp
1 cup crisco
1 tsp. clear vanilla
2 lbs. powdered sugar
pinch salt

Mix first three, then add last two. Thin with water.

This is the only one I use.

I love Toba Garrett's recipe for Buttercream Frosting. It does have meringue powder in it to help stabilize and form a crust on the frosting. It tastes great too!

Well, I guess I am going to be of no help absolute and no fail favorite of all time is Sugarshack's recipe!!!! Substitute the sweetex with crisco and run to the corner store and grab some changed my buttercream life and I no longer hate it. Also, it makes a great smooth base for fondant!!!! You can't go wrong with it!!!
