I'm making roses for a wedding cake next week and I can't get them red enough. Every time I roll the gumpaste out it starts to look pink. Can I paint them?????? icon_cry.gif

Yes, you can airbrush them or you can color your gumpaste with chefmaster liqua gel color and get a true red. You might also try powdered color.

Use pink or orange to colour your paste first, then add the red. It will take less colour to achieve a true red that way. Good luck!

red and black are the two hardest colors to get...
i agree ... start with pink, and then add the red, if not you will be using a TON of RED...

what i opt for when i need red or black i go opt for buying it premade

You can get a true red or black instantly with chefmaster and use very little compared to wilton and americolor. No need to start with another color first.
