Has anyone recently taken a baked and decorated cake with them on a plane as a "carry-on" I am going to Daytona beach to meet up with family on vacation. We will be celebrating an anniversary, and I would like to bring a small cake with me. Probably only an 8" or so. Have you experienced any problems with security issues? or any issues on the plane itself.
Thanks in advance for any info.

It seems everytime I travel on an airplane, I have some kind of baked goodies I'm taking. I have not had any problems except the security personnel always joke about conviscating the goods!

I used to work for an airline at LAX and as far as I know you shouldn't have any problem with an 8 in. on board as long as you don't have any other carry-on with you, and be sure it'll go through the X ray machine.
