OK, cake friends - I must be ignorant or something, but I have some questions about the great Hannah Montana cakes you've posted here. My first problem is that I've never seen the show or movie, so all I know about her is sttrictly coincidental (we haven't let our 6 year old DGD watch it yet). (1) Why do so many of them have stars on sticks sticking up from the top? (2) What's the significance of the cool "zebra" stripes? (3) Are there any particular colors or a color scheme that goes with her? I know - go find the show and watch it or visit the website (I'm sure there is one...) I have a Hannah cake for mid August and I really need help! icon_confused.gif Thanks so much - PAT

I have never seen the show either and have heard never to let you kids watch it lol. Anyway, I made one last year (in my photos) with the zebra stripes and the stars with absolutely no clue about the meaning behind those things, just repeating what I had seen here on cc and the color scheme of the party, the kid went nuts over it the mother called like 20 minutes after she picked it up to tell me how much she loved it (which was a great feeling) sorry that doesn't really answer your question, just my own experience.

I'm with Kahuna here. I made my first HM cake a few weeks ago and used a pink/purple colour scheme with stars and the HM logo and butterflies. I also added a microphone and guitar. I have never seen the show but my niece is absolutely besotted with her and I wonder why.

I have seen the show and don't know what the significance of the zebra stripes are. I think the stars are because she's a pop star.

The ones I've made I've based on the partyware from celebrateexpress.

I actully enjoy the show. Its better than the murderous show or those all about s*x. It seems like that's all thats on anymore.

I LOVE THE SHOW!!!! I'm 27 years old. it's a great show, quite funny and Miley is great.

Anyway, i actually don't know what's behind the stars and the zebra stripes, i just know that it kinda works for her (hannah). When I see stars I immediately think of her. I guess the fact that she's supposed to be a "rockstar", she wears outrageous outfits (zebra stripes) and plays huge concert arenas.

*sigh* I love this show. i'm sorry LOL

The only thing I know is that the color scheme fo Hannah Montana is pinks, purple, and reds.(all the girly colors).

Good Luck

I'm 41 and love the show-I watch it sometimes even if my DD's aren't here with me. icon_redface.gif I think she's very talented and just hope she has enough family support and common sense enough not to go the route of other tragic child stars. It's a wholesome, positive, girl power show--something that is VERY hard to find these days. Take a look at it sometime, don't just go by what others say-they're probably talking about the commercialism aspect. My girls want everything HM!

I have made 2 HM cakes using all the bright colors I could. I used the titles of her songs around the sides of the cake and a laminated picture of her cut out of a popstar magazine standing up on the cake (Using popsicle sticks). I did the same for a Jonas Brothers cake, too. If you look in my photo bucket pages, you'll see them.

Well, I think the show is cute & my 6 yr old dd watches it & we're picky about what she watches. Sooo. HM is a pop star & likes the glitz/glam. So, I believe this is where these things come in. There are PLENTY of HM things at Walmart, Target, Kmart that can give you ideas if you want something else. My dd makes extreme requests, so I did HM on a stage & the designs on the sides of the cakes came from the inside of the cd cover (which is good peppy music to run to icon_wink.gif ).

I watch the show with my daughter to. Anything that has to do with singing and dancing and my 5 yr old DD loves it. It's a good show and I would rather her watch that then spongebob anytime.

In one episode a cook makes her a cake that is in the shape of her logo. The template I believe is in the gallery. You could do a cake to that affect. The colors are purple and a deep almost gold yello.

HTH

Well, my DD and my DH watch it all the time together. When it comes on she will say "come on Daddy, Hannah's on!".

I have even found him watching it without her lol.

I was teasing him and said I was going to make him a Hannah Montana cake for his birthday...lol

Thanks so very much, guys. I apologize for not responding sooner, but I've not received any notifications of replies. Here I've been thinking that my question - for the very first and only time - had gotten no responses icon_redface.gif I finally found all of you when I looked under "My Posts". Great ideas - I'll have to think quickly, because it's for about 10 days from now!!!! Sorry for my lack of faith in all of you icon_cry.gif PAT

I have done this one three times now. The prettiest was using brighter colors, but you get the picture:

How cool is that!!!!!!!!!!!! The laminated picture is a great idea - that way your attention can be devoted to the stage, etc. Thanks ever so much - I'd like to steal your idea!!! PAT
