I am so addicted to this site! As soon as I get to work in the morning, I log onto the site. Then I can't get off of it and do any work. It seems that the 8 hours I get paid to work, I really only work 1 hour and the rest go to CC. Help me! icon_cry.gif

Any change we could get this in stero, then I could listen to it all day.

Maybe I am a canadate for INTERVENTION. icon_redface.gif

Yup, me too! I love this site and can't wait for the morning when I can log on and then it seems the day gets away from me.

If we have an intervention then we have to quit CC forever--I wouldn't be able to do that lol. Now get off of here and go and do some work!!

Have a great CC day.

Kathy

I have never been the kind of person to sit in front of the computer for hours at a time.........until I found CC. I work 3rd shift, so I get home at 6 am when everyone is sleeping. I turn on the computer and I'm totally consumed for hours. I have to force myself to shut it off. My poor kids had a hot dog and carnation instant breakfast for lunch yesterday because I was busy "researching" my next project on here. That's what I tell my DH, and that is really how it all starts, but then I find a thread and I can't stop and I get totally side tracked.

Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm a CCaholic. icon_redface.gif

Hi Sarah, I am also a CCaholic icon_biggrin.gif . I am now sitting at the computer while the kids are in bed so no one will know that I am looking at cakes again.

Unfortunately the first step is that one wants to quit caking-I can't seem to get to that step icon_cool.gif

It's like cake porn that we have to hide from our husbands. icon_redface.gif
But truley I have to log out now. My house NEEDS to be cleaned. But I'll sneak back later.
OK maybe just a few more minutes icon_smile.gif .
Well, I'll just wait for 1 more reply.

I will admit my typing skills have improved since I became a member.
And I have rediscovered decorating again after taking a break. I'm actually accepting orders again. I am inspired. oh yeah, I was going to clean the house, and care for my children, and get back to reality, blah blah blah.

Well, brace yourselves, because it only gets worse! Yeah, I started with just checking out the cake pictures. Then, pretty soon, I'm lurking in the forums. Before too long, I'm posting replies to the forum questions. Then I advanced to checking out the cookies, and a whole new world opened up. I've become obsessed with decorated cookies! No intervention can save me...don't you have to want to be saved for it to work?

I need help too! I spend at least two or three hours a day here lurking in the posts. I don't post much myself because someone has usually already said what I'm thinking! icon_cool.gif I have learned so much I starting to forget what I learned. icon_rolleyes.gif I get so imbarrased when my dh or kids come by and say "cakes again?" I spend more time on here than actually decorating cakes.

Hello everyone, my name is Lisa and I also am a CCaholic. I started by getting hooked on Ace of Cakes and their web site directed me here. I have been making cakes since Jan of this year and I got hooked shortly after. I am not ashamed...until my kids, also eat hotdogs and milk for lunch. But I throw in an apple so as not to feel guilty. icon_redface.gif

OMG...I thought I wa alone in this....I was shocked to find a string of posts expressing the way I feel icon_surprised.gif

I start my day by logging on to CC before logging on to any of the systems I need to actually get my work done icon_biggrin.gif I only hope and pray that my IT department isn't checking my "cookies" and I don't mean the edible ones either.... icon_evil.gif

I can relate to a lot of what you guys are saying here. I have such a bad addiction that I even find myself trying to access CC from...get this....MY PHONE!!!!

I am coming to the end of my Wilton courses offered at my local craft store and now I'm looking to enroll in more advanced courses. Ever since I was little, I've enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking, specifically baking! Taking these courses has aroused a true PASSION in me and I long to learn more and more....and this website allows me to learn tricks of the trade and I LOVE IT!!!

I adapted a motto I read on here the other day..."Why sleep when you can bake?"

Ditto to the family lurking over my shoulder. When my daughter says "Are you looking at cakes again, why don't you just go bake?" I remind her that she spends more time on Facebook, though I am rapidly overtaking her. My trouble is when I get on say about 11:00 at night for just a quick peek and then the next thing I know it's 12:30 in the morning or later!

My name is Joanne and I am a CCaholic and this is my story.

Mama, you're on here until 12:30? I got you beat. I think I logged off last night at 2am. My daughters sit behind me saying, "I want to see that cake" and pointing. If I don't show it to them they get mad. They are only 2 and 3.

My name is Bobbie and I'm a CC addict, proudly raising two miniature CC addicts

Haha that is so ME... When I hear him drive up I quickly shut down the laptop. All the while I can't stop thinking about what I'm missing or wanting to research next. He's already threatened to take my computer from me.

Hi my name is Stephanie and I'm a CCholic.

I can relate icon_redface.gif I can't seem to stay away from here either! Even when I'm really busy I somehow find time to come and "snack" for just a couple of minutes! My hubby will ask " are you looking at the cakes again icon_twisted.gif " My toddler will stand and point to say let me show you which one I want, lol! So if you all find a cure be sure and let me know icon_biggrin.gif

Okay, I'm addicted and I don't want a step plan for withdrawal. This is my vice, it is basically harmless, except thAT I hog the computer and ignore chores from time to time. I think we are blessed to have such a helpful site for cake/cookie decorating. icon_biggrin.gif

A few warning signs of a CCaholic:
1. Logging on before noon. (Enough said.)
2. Repeating the behavior throughout the day/night. (Sleep? Sleep?)
3. Denial of severity of the problem (What?! I'm not spending too much time on this. I got a load of laundry done (on my way to the computer))
4. Neglect of family. (They want meals? Let them eat cake!)
5. Spending too much money on habit. (Tools, just buying tools- what husband doesn't know the meaning of tools?)

After a CC filled day at work, I come home and log on to all my systems again. She says, "didn't you spend all day looking at cakes???" I proceed to log on to Facebook, MySpace and CC. I know I have an addiction and I admit it, but better this than liquor and/or smoking, RIGHT?!?!
