I blew it. Her recipe calls for 1 kilogram or 2.25 pounds of powdered sugar. How many cups is that? I only added 4. I have Royal Icing soup if anyone would like to join me for lunch.

lolol...sorry about the "soup" Vonda! That amount of powdered sugar equals about 7 cups of powdered sugar. I use this recipe all the time, and I actually measured it out once. That cup measurement works for me every time. Maybe you can just add it the extra sugar now, if you haven't already poured it down the drain!

There is roughly 4 cups of sugar to a pound so you can use that as a guide. Just keep adding more (or less) sugar until you get the consistency you want. Good luck.

I had trouble with Antonia's fabulous icing when I added 2.25 pounds of sugar. I just add one bag (2 pounds) and it comes out very thick. Then I thin as I need.

Good luck -

Thank you so much for the replies. I don't know what I was thinking. I was able to salvage by adding the remainder of the 2 pound bag and a little extra. No Soup For You!
