Hello! I called my local cake store today to see if they sell either Alpine or Sweetex. I want to mix it into the IMBC for my niece's July 19 wedding (to try and get it to hold up better). They said they do not sell either of those brands, but do have a generic hi-ratio.....MMMMM>>K....any one familiar with any generic hi-ratio's? TIA!

I use the CK Brand Hi Ratio Shortening, is that generic perhaps? Well it worked fine for me, I used it for the Sugarshack recipe, but I still want to order some sweetex to taste the difference.

I prefer the ck high-ratio to the alpine. Maybe it was an off batch but it had an odor...like old shortening...not quite rancid though....the ck hr didn't have an odor at all.

Thanks. From I have seen they sell other CK stuff, so that is probably the brand they are referring to. I will get some! I appreciate the feedback!
