Looking For A Good Recipe, Too Many Cakes Not Enough Time!

I have two cakes I am doing for July 25th!! One is a big sculpted cake to feed 75 people and the other is a smaller slab cake for a family BBQ! Both have plenty of hand sculpted fondant figures, food, etc...
So I am looking for a good recipe for both chocolate and vanilla. I was thinking about one of "enhancing" on of the boxed mixes??? I need something that will stay moist and good to carve! Any ideas????
The WASC cake is very tasty and many members use for carving (semi-freeze or freeze first).

(Using DH white cake mixes, the full recipe yields a tad over 14 cups of batter.)
