I would like to make this cake to bring to a dinner party on Saturday. Can someone help me, I have never made one and dont know what flavor cake and icing to use. Thanks CCers!!! Dana

i'm a chocolate fanatic and have always used chocolate cake with chocolate cake. i did one for a party with french vanilla and hazelnut pirouettes and chocolate dipped strawberries on the top. i also wrapped a pretty ribbon around it. it was a huge hit. i did one for my mom's b-day last year with nothing on top and the one with the strawberries was much prettier (good strawberries aren't easy to come by in october). i think you can use what ever you want though. use what you like . yellow cake with mocha icing might be good, you could go with raspberry filling and raspberries on top -they're beautiful right now. what ever floats your boat!
