I would like to make the cake for my daughters baby shower in August. I have never decorated a cake before. I want to make a bassinet cake using a 9"x13" cake for the base and a 9" round cake cut in half for the top (hood). Is there an easy way to frost this and make it look good? I have seen them made with the basket weave, but I feel this is to complicated for me. I also want to make a fondant blanket and maybe some bows to decorate it with also. Could I use the "7 minute" fluffy frosting for it?? I thought it would make it look fluffy which might be cute, and then put the blanket on it and add some bows and maybe some toys made out of fondant also. I have never used fondant but it looks fun!!!

You could probably even do rosettes instead of basketweave.

Maybe someone else has had more use with the 7-minute frosting that can help you with the decorating aspects of it.
