I know this topic has been visited many times, but in my search did not find this specific question addressed.

I have a poker cake for next weekend. I am doing the "cards" out of fondant with tylose and they will need several days to dry. If I go ahead and apply my edible images (the card faces) and cut them out, will they be okay for a week. For instance, they won't run or fade? Anyone?

I've never applied and edible image this far in advance.

Thanks,
Susan

They may crack if handled. Edible images get a little brittle when laying around

Also, with the humidity, you might get some running of the colors. You might want to go ahead and make your cards and wait until a day or two before the cake is due to do the images. Unless you can find some of the silicone that are in the little packets in shoe boxes. Then store it in an air tight container and they should be fine because the silicone will soak up the moisture.
