I'm going to make a cake next weekend using the 3d cupcake pan. I made a trial cake today using fondant. It turned out pretty good, but I think I want to use just buttercream. Has anyone done one that you could give me some tips? How do you frost the top of it?
I did one a while back and just iced in b/c. I used the 1M tip and just did a big swirl on top and used some of those giant sprinkles. Photo is in my pics.

If your talking about the wilton giant cupcake pan ? I have a picture in my photos! I also used the 1M tip on The top of mine !
