When you make a sheet cake, do you use two layers of cake and torte in the middle? I am making a sheet cake this weekend, and I really don't know if ppl typically use 2 layers, or just 1. What do you do?
sheets i usually do one layer, unless its a wedding kitchen cake, then i make it as many layers as the wedding cake. I charge extra to torte a sheet and only do it when a filling is requested.
I guess it depends on what the customer ordered and how many it needs to feed. one 2" layer feeds less than two 2" layers. For me, everything is torted. My standard sheet cake is 3" tall, and thats 3-4 layers of cake.
