I am considering doing a autumn theme cake for a contest. I want to make a authentic looking apple basket (think large weaving). Then putting real apples inside of it. Would I used a wooden dowel to support it? Or how about cookie bouquets in the shape of a apple stuck in it basket.
If I was better with the fondant shaping I would make apples out of fondant. What your opinion?

IMHO I would make marzipan apple instead of fondant icon_smile.gif
