I want to make a chocolate ganache covered cake and put fresh fruit on top any ideas on what type of cake I should make.

Welcome to Cake Central. Most any cake will combine well with chocolate. Yellow cake is flavorful, pound cakes and just about anything.

Remember, cut fruit will weep juice, so add it at the latest possible moment.

okay thanks for the tip about the fruit I was thinking of maybe a raspberry or orange flavored cake.

Any way to keep the fruit from weeping. I see from pictures that some people sugar the fruit will that help

Nothing beats a nice white cake with bavarian creme filling under ganache..with some really nice raspberries garnish. You guys are making me hungry!

chocolate zucchini cake! I just did this for my brothers grooms cake topped with chocolate covered strawberries or I agree with vanilla sponge with bavarian creme - like a boston cream doughnut!
