As in, 5", 7", 9"...

When you do a tiered cake, how many of you use odd size cakes? I am only Wilton and self-taught (okay, and CC taught icon_biggrin.gif), so am just used to the "go up 4" rule". In reality, sometimes I go up 2" (4", 6", 8" tiers) and sometimes I go up 4".

What are your usual sizes, and why?

I have the odd size pans from 3" up to 15" in round and square. I use them with the all the even sizes to get whatever configuration is needed. They are absolutely essential to moi.
