I saw a great sign posted at the cake supply store today. It read: "Unattended children will be sold as slaves". icon_twisted.gificon_lol.gif

There's good reason for it.

Seen any other good ones lately?

I wish I had a grabbed a picture of this: but someone at a gas station must have climbed up the price thingie where they have prices. They switched the 4 and the 9, and instead of 4.09 for regular, it was 9.04.

Funny, yet scary.

at my library in the children's room there's a sign that says "unattended children will be given a puppy and a cup of espresso."

Gas station sign we saw while on vacation at Oak Island, NC:

Regular: Arm

Midgrade: Leg

Premium: First Born

Another at a local pizza restaurant, they have it on the wall and on their menu:

"We don't compete with those who sell for less, they know what their stuff is worth."

I just saw these two funny signs last weekend on a Sunday drive in the country. I had to get out of the car and snap these photos... icon_lol.gif

We have a local "amusement park" called Santa's Village. There's a sign that says "Unattended children will be put to work as elves" icon_smile.gif.

disneynutbsv Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 12:48am

cjmommy....are you from NH?? I'm from Jefferson originally, are you talking about Santa's Village in NH?

bisbqueenb Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 4:09am

Local photographer has one on his door...Open when I'm here...closed when I'm not!

I am so using this quote! That right there says everything I have been trying to get across to the 'grocery store prices' mentally around here! Whoo hoo!

marmalade1687 Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 5:44pm

OMG!! I laughed so hard seeing those photos!! Where is the "Dead People's Stuff Antiques" located? I may just have to take a drive to find it just to say I've been there!! (I love antique stores!!)

sarahnichole975 Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 5:51pm

I saw a company sign once on a trip it was called "Shat-Hardings". Don't know if everyone will find it as funny as me, but all I could think was being the receptionist and laughing out loud every time I had to answer the phone, "Shat-Hardings, this is Nikki, may I help you."

cakelady15 Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 5:56pm

I was in a parking garage in Cleveland and there was a big sign that said "Entrance Only, Do Not Enter". I tried to take a picture of it, but it was too dark. It was hilarious though.

becky27 Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:00pm

too funny!!!!

fluttercakes Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:06pm

Ooo! I remember an interesting sign for an attorney's office: Paul S. Weiner, Attorney at Law...I always said, 'Nice to know that Paul likes to advertise!'. I am such a prude, icon_lol.gif!

I will be stealing this quote!!! icon_lol.gif

butternut Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:12pm

There was some construction going on very close to a wooded area where there's been problems with people tossing their trash, etc. Because of the construction, someone placed a porta potty out for the construction workers. What was so funny is that it was within 50 feet of a large sign that said "NO DUMPING"

Ironbaker Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:16pm

LMAO Sarahnicole! I find it just as funny. icon_wink.gif

Here is my fav that I snapped a few years back. It was at a Taco Bell near me. Someone had fun with the sign...and it's the truth! LOL

Image

And another for good measure, just saw again in my photobucket account but it's not a sign, well...

This was where I used to live, couple of years ago. His truck sat out here like this for at least a week before he tried to paint over it. You could still see the red through it! LMAO

I try to keep my camera on me, you just never know what you're going to see! icon_lol.gif

bobwonderbuns Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:18pm

Boy there's been some great signs out there! icon_biggrin.gif

lepaz Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:24pm

I don't know if this falls in the "sign" category but while at the Phoenix Zoo years ago when they still had an alligators moat, they had a sign posted, "Do Not Feed" and someone scratched in after that "anything but misbehaved children". Hummm, do I know any like that?? icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif

vixterfsu Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:31pm

A couple of years ago while traveling in Florida
my mother and I had a septic tank company truck
in front of us, it said, "IF YOU DON't CRAP, WE DON't EAT." The crap word was embellished.

moxey2000 Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:33pm

My all time very favorite sign:

"This is a non-smoking area. If we see you smoking we will assume you are on fire and take appropriate action."

Always cracked me up icon_lol.gif !

loriemoms Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:43pm

When I used to live up in the DC area, there was a big ad in the yellow pages for a OB/GYN named Harry C Beaver. It really was his name!

ThreeDGirlie Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:44pm

There's a gas station near me that has a deli inside. They have a large sign that says:

Eat Here
Get Gas

Every time I see it I chuckle!

NikkiDoc Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:44pm

A convenience store with a mini grill, not far away from my town:

Eat here and get gas!

I have even seen this on a funniest sign website, so apparently someone else thought it was funny, too.

sarahnichole975 Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:44pm

My hubby is a UPS driver and he delivered to an OB-GYN the other day who's name was Dr. Peeper. Not sure I want a Dr. Peeper peeping at my privates....lol

kurn Posted 1 Jul 2008 , 6:45pm

This one caught my attention.
