I'll start with sauerkraut cake. I haven't been able to line up ANY volunteers to taste test this cake for me.

Last fall I remember seeing a recipe for chickpea-pumpkin cake! I've not been brave enough to test it out ...

Mine isnt really a flavor, its a flavor combo that a customer ordered from me. It was a butter pecan cake with pineapple cream filling icon_surprised.gificon_eek.gif .

I tried and tried to suggest another combination, but he was adamant. So i made it. They apparently loved it. He emailed me the next week and said his birthday cake was wonderful, and everyone raved about it. I was shocked that it wasnt hate mail.

I will eat anything once... except liver I hate liver (was forced to eat this nasty cut of meat several times during childhood). So bring your weird combo's over and I'll try them for ya icon_biggrin.gif I amaze most people when they say "You ATE that?!" Yes I did and it was pretty good too icon_smile.gif I found a recipe for blueberry Pomegranate Tea-Soaked pound cake. Everyone was like that sounds gross. I made it and it was soooo awesome couldn't keep the kids off of it. And I didn't even have to add frosting it was that good.
I've always encouraged my kids to at least try something before they wrinkle their noses up at it and it always helped that I would try it first icon_smile.gif They are all healthy eatters now and rarely turn down what is put in front of them.

The wierdest combo I have heard of is blue cheese cake with a mayo filling. Now that is too gross for me!! icon_confused.gificon_confused.gif

The sauerkraut cake takes it for me but the green tea cake that Duff makes sounds pretty weird too!

Ham and pineapple cheesecake.
I get the sweet/salty thing, and love bacon and vanilla ice cream or with cantaloupe....but-
They wanted NY style cheesecake with pineapple in it, and crispy fat slices of home-cured on top (which they provided) Bleh.
Not for me, and I will try just about anything.

Metabea I'd like to try that blueberry pomegranate-tea soaked pound cake too. too. I have that recipe for the sauerkraut cake if you want it, actually it is beer & sauerkraut fudge cake. I'll be happy to post it or pm it to you.
celestecakes78 What did the sauerkraut you had taste like? I can't imagine what that could be. The bacon one. wow. I think that's even weirder than sauerkraut. The blue cheese too. Mayo adds moistness in the classic mayo cake.
???
I tried gravy over raw cabbage one time and was blown away at how good that was. But, I'm not willing to try this one without testers. I'd have to adapt the recipe to sugarfree and that might make a big taste difference.
