I am going to be making a cake for 35-40 people. They want it to look similar to the hibiscus cake I did for my sister. I have been wanting to do a stacked/tiered cake for a while and this is my opportunity. My question is what sizes do I need to make? Also should I use a plate set or will dowels and cake boards be ok? I was thinking a 10 an 6 inch . I am excited about this!
wilton.com has a really helpful chart for cake sizes, servings, batter amounts, etc. you should check that out.
10 and 6 will give you 50 servings where a 9 and 6 will give you 44
You can get away with dowells and cake boards.. make sure you have the dowells all cut the same size...
when you might want to invest in a more stable system.. like the SPS (single plate system)
I checked the party chart from wilton and it said a 6 and 10 will give me 40. Thanks for the replys ladies.
