Sorry if this question has already been answered.... if you paint fondant with say Vokda or Rum, will that affect the taste of the icing?

I dont know how it affects the taste..but I was taught to paint with lemon extract-it dries faster b/c of the higher alcohol content..and its smells so yummy while you are painting...Im sure no one would mind a lemon-e taste vs. vodka-e..dont know...sorry

no you don't taste ANY of the alcohol... now if you use a extract you will get a hint of flavor.. with the everclear you don't .. none at all... because Everclear (pure grain alchohol) is pretty much one of the purest grain alchohols around.. will disapate (sp) as soon as it touches your cake.

Liquor store.. and they don't keep it out on the public shelves where you can just reach and get it (usually) .. ask the attendant for it icon_smile.gif
